We’ve all got varying ideas of what “real food” truly is. There is one thing for certain, if it comes in a package and has ingredients you cannot pronounce, it is going to break down in your body as a foreign substance, and the nutritive properties will be little to nothing at all.

A human body is built to adapt and to survive, however it’s clear based on the rise in diabetes, heart dis-ease, obesity and cancer that we’ve been taxing our bodies to the extent that they are breaking down on us.
Disease and suffering is NOT inevitable. We are not meant to spend our later years in pain, weak or falling apart. We can thrive, be full of joy and energy regardless of the age of our physical bodies. Food has everything to do with it, genetics play such a small role and this has been proven by mainstream science. Our fate has not been pre-determined solely by our family history. We can positively impact our health by what we choose to eat.
Whether you have chosen the vegan path, the vegetarian path, the animal food path – plant foods do your body good. Eat more dark leafy greens, steamed & raw! Add in more colourful veggies and healthy servings of organic, ripe fruit.
Nutrient rich diets sufficient in calories are healing to the body, and reduce if not totally eliminate cravings for processed, fried or sugary foods. A craving is just the body asking for nutrition, regardless of the form it manifests in, you never *need* processed food, fried food or refined sugars.
**Try something new even if it’s just for 7 days.**
1. Write down your top weaknesses when it comes to food.
2. Now, write down a healthy alternative that you also enjoy, that you know you can swap out every time you have a craving.
3. Make sure you *always* have your substitute foods on hand for this 7 day experiment.
4. See what happens when you make a healthy, empowered choice instead. Do you have more energy? Do you feel better about yourself physically and emotionally?
As humans, we tend to enjoy taking actions that get us a reward. So reward yourself with the gift of feeling great, confident, happy and energized!
